Description
Inspired by the famous Chief Joseph this wonderful oil on canvas was created by Betty L. Cazel (November 14, 1922 - December 11, 2004), my mother. A daughter of Greek immigrants she was born in Altoon, Pa. USA. Graduating from Altoona High School in 1941 she briefly attended Juanita College on a literary scholarship before enlisting in the United States Marine Corp. As one of the first women in the United States military she received an Honorable Discharge on February 14, 1946. A wife of a career United States Air Force Chief Master Sargent she began oil painting in 1959 while stationed in Sembach,Germany. Beginning in oils she later mastered both watercolors and pastels.
Note:This is the first time The Chief has been seen and made available to the public. I hope you enjoy The Chief as much as I have over the years. God Bless you.
